Falanghina is an ancient grape variety grown in volcanic soil just north of Mt. Vesuvius, and was the favorite white wine of the Roman Emperors.
The Lacobucci family of Terre Stregate Winery have cultivated this prized varietal since 1898. For 7 years in a row, Italy’s most prestigious wine publication GamberoRosso has awarded them its highest ranking of “Tre Bicchiere” (Three Glasses).
The wine is praised for its bright grapefruit-peel aromas, ripe orchard fruit on the palate and bracing minerality on the finish.
Great with seared tuna and other grilled fish and vegetables. Also with pasta with seafood and vegetable sauces.
