The Ciappi family has owned this 60 acre property overlooking the famous medieval hill town of San Gimignano for many generations. This traditional Chianti is made primarily with Sangiovese Toscano, with the addition of smaller amounts of Canaiolo, Colorino and Ciliegiolo. This time-tested blend produces a bright and lively wine, with deep color and enticing aromas of blackberries. The tannins are soft, the finish is smooth. Tuscans love this wine with their traditional bean dishes, with bruschetta and all tomato-sauced pasta, and with grilled chicken and pork.
